Truck drivers across India have set April 1 as the start date of an “indefinite strike”.
The strike is called by the ‘All India Confederation of Goods Vehicles Owners’ Association. Its executive member Subhas Chandra Bose said truckers across India are:
“protesting against the “sharp increase in third party insurance premium and government charges”.
Milk supply and other emergency services are said to not be part of the strike, and will still be transported
…somehow.
What’s impressive is how the Indian truckers have managed to get together, agree on an issue, and maybe even act on it starting Saturday.
Hard to see that ever happening in the United States!
