Good news out of Miami as Eliel Perez, the moving truck driver who was shot in the face in a road rage shooting on Friday, is okay and was released from Jackson Memorial Hospital.
It all started when a box truck failed to stop at a 4-way stop sign. Eliel and 2 other movers, also in a box truck and working for Two Men and a Truck moving company, honked their horn at the other truck. This enraged the driver, who started screaming and flipping them off.
According to Jeffrey Mesa, another mover who witnessed the whole affair, the enraged driver turned around, beat them to the next intersection, stopped, and aimed at the them with a shotgun.
Then he shot Perez as he went by.
Eliel was air lifted to the hospital where he underwent immediate surgery.
This from a representative of Two Men and a Truck, the moving company of Perez:
Eliel underwent surgery and has been released from the hospital. He is in good spirits and grateful for the outpouring of support today. We are incredibly proud of the compassion and response of our team involved in this terrible incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eliel as he continues to recover.
It’s reported that the detectives have leads and are working those leads but no arrests have been made. They’re asking if anybody has more information or tips about the shooting and the suspects to give them a call.
